I’ve been wanting to spend more time on animal portraits lately and have not had much opportunity. There has also a lady out there in the tattoo community whose entrepenurial skills are something I’ve been inspired by since I have about a million business ideas but am horribly lacking when it comes to implementing them. Her name is Nikki Kasper of Tattoo Artist Magazine and Tattoo Culture Magazine. Long story short I’ve been wanting to try out an animal painting so study something with longer hair than my own dogs, and as I get IG and Facebook shots of this stud Mookie all the time it was a pretty obvious choice. Nikki was super cool about letting me use her photos and the rest was a blast, even if I took way too long between sessions.
When I started this I was running all Mac software and by the end have switched to Windows so that I will hopefully have some better luck recording and editing videos of this stuff but for this one I only have a few pictures from the process to maybe see a couple of different stages. It’s pretty self explanitory but I started out with a real loose block in, threw in some darker values and pushing everything into place, then started working in the lighter details. I’ll take one last look before print but I wanted to put it up so it looks live I’ve been doing something with my life. Thanks for checking it out , to see the final please check out my Portfolio page and share it if you like it!
